Another token you missed is called ASA or Algorand standard assets, on the Algorand blockchain. They are super easy to create without any coding knowledge, and are a fun way to get into crypto. A lot of cool projects are being built that use there own token such as $GORA (Algorand’s own Oracle) and $OPUL (a music nft ownership project). It’s also fun to create worthless sh!tcoins and send them to your friends!
As far as I can tell though, Algo has the only real world uses, although I might be off about that. You can own a fractional share of a specific property via Lofty. Rental payments are pushed back as USDC for your cypto wallet. OPUL will be out soon, allowing you to fractionally own songs.
I’m staking ALGO but I’m super biased. The algo chain is just the easiest to interact with. You don’t have to care about the price action of algo if there are other projects on the ecosystem that flourish like OPUL. Stake with folks finance will let you leverage the governance rewards. There’s other projects tied to NFTs that can be staked to earn crypto that’s easily exchanged back for ALGO for nothing.

I think overall that supporting new promising projects is the right way to attract people to the Algo ecosystem. OPUL and FolksFinance are, tbh, very interesting platforms, and in a matter of time those will get the credit they deserve. In addition, I figured out myself that classic governance is just bad, since you basically can't invest your algos in ASAs for three months straight, providing no contribution at all to the growth of new projects.
Anyone here been watching OPUL? Up 400% this month, should have held much longer than I did!

that’s a great list and wish i had something similar previous to 2022. I’m deep in the algorand ecosystem and don’t have too much exposure to BTC/ETH which I should’ve. I have stable coins which I use to DCA but it what it is. Currently in $ALGO, $YLDY, $SMILE, and $OPUL. Portfolio is maybe down 60% from ATH as made so good trades in 2021. Would’ve been worse if wasn’t for those trades. But I just truly enjoy using the chain to swap, stake, etc. It settles in 4s which is the fastest I’ve used in comparison to ETH, SOL, and Terra/Luna. I’m earning about 30-125% APY which roughly is about 40USD a day which I DCA into ALGO but may DCA into BTC now with the current times. I plan to reallocate portfolio to maybe 25% BTC, 25%ETH, 10% USDC, and maybe 40% alts which include ALGO and its projects.
One thing you could start dabbling into would be ASAs, yes there are a lot of scam coins but that’s bc Algorand is that much cheaper to use and operate. Amongst the shit there are promising projects and later this year many of the DEXs (Tinyman - TINY Algofi - BANK Pact - tbd) will have governance tokens out. If you’re bored with Algo price action nearly every ASA is under 100m. OPUL (Opulous) is getting exchange listings, i don’t own any and their CEO is a clown on Twitter but they’re the blue chip for music NFTs on Algorand, 500M supply but it’s far from full circulation Defly is a wallet / chart / soon to be DEX integrated app with its own native token (DEFLY) that will reduce fees and be used for governance I believe? 1B supply $9.3 fully diluted mcap Cosmic Champs is an upcoming play to earn mobile device & desktop friendly game apparently similar to clash of clans? VC backed and created by a doxxed team with game development background. The game isn’t out yet but the governance token COSG is being launched today. 270M token supply, launching at .10 YLDY (Yieldly) is still around and kicking even with most people cool to the project and team, they’re absolutely in a rebuild phase with plans for a launchpad are in the works. They’re partnered with Cosmic Champs to have staking pools for the COSG token. YLDY he price action shows that but the 10B tokens are in full circulation with only a $22.3M market cap. STKE (Algostake) is a product available for other projects to use as a staking platform. The organizer buys STKE tokens and can deposit their reward asset and run the staking pool. Over time the STKE balance is used (I don’t know how that side of it operates) and needs to be replenished by the organizer for the pool to keep working. A cool feature is that it takes snapshots of your holdings over the course of every 24hr but doesn’t transfer ownership into smart contracts. I sent my investment to the OPUL wallet and the first problems began. The TGE was delayed several months but eventually, it took place and we were delivered our initial batch of OPUL tokens. The vesting schedule was set as follows: ​  Meaning that the next batch of tokens would be released 4 months after the TGE, and then 10% every 2 months. It's a slow vesting schedule, but at the time I believed in the project and participated. ​ Now, the 24th of March, 2022, was supposed to be the third release of 10% of the tokens. However, one week ago, they suddenly decided to change the vesting schedule so we wouldn't get any tokens for the planned release in March. Instead, we have to wait until 12th of April, when the tokens will start to be gradually released, rather than in batches of 10%. I have complained about this numerous times and never got any response to my question as to how it's possible that they can change a vesting schedule with only a week's notice. They keep shilling their token and claiming how they are in it for the long run and if I would believe in the project, I wouldn't be complaining... and that I'm still in profit compared to the IDO price... That's right, I am in profit, but they're keeping the tokens locked that were supposed to be released yesterday, so I can't sell them anyway. The project has gone through several other shenanigans that made me lose all trust in the project. The price has dumped from an ATH of $7+ to 60 cents and because of the release of another batch 10% of tokens to all investors, the price would likely drop even further because of the sell pressure. So that's the reason why they changed the vesting schedule 7 months after the IDO. They claim '99% of the investors' is behind this decision. Their Telegram shows a different story. Yeah, lots of absolute garbage showing up on Algo and on Yieldly like OPUL, Flamingo, and the shit that happened with the HDL contract on Yieldly. Low barrier to entry means tons of useless shit (and scams) get thrown against the wall.
YLDLY is an obvious front runner. But also OPUL is below its initial price. SMILE is in the same position. Most of the more used ASAs aren't even on CoinGecko.
Check out the Opulous project on Algorand. With it, you will legally own a portion of all royalties from streaming, tv appearances, plays on Tik Tok, etc by holding a song's S-NFT. Tokenomics of the OPUL token aside, I have a feeling it is going to be a huge deal a year or 2 from now.
I'm really into ASA's right now. There are some really interesting projects starting to pop up on the ALGO ecosystem. Like CHIPS, YLDLY, ARCC,HDL. OPUL and may others I'm sure.

Damn I’m glad I sold that shitcoin. I bought a decent bag from the hype on here as a moonshot coin. I bought around $11 and sold at $9 for a loss and went into OPUL at 1.30. Ended up flipping OPUL for 6 dollars. Rule of advice this sun doesn’t know shit about fuck. They also told nobody to bug Doge when it hit 4 cents and told people don’t FOMO into SOl from 50 dollars all the way to 200 😂😂😂😂😂

to add to point 6. Tinyman's dev teams ask the community to remove their liquidity from pools. So it isn't like all of the coins were stolen. To my knowledge, \~30 goBTC were stolen as well some amount of goETH and OPUL but not sure how much.
I went after OPUL (Opulus) on KuCoin and it was my first ever time being early to a coin going live, I had $300 that I had accumulated from buying ALGO, so I converted to USDT and bought OPUL right when it went live and that tanked the $300 to $100 (if I held I would’ve been fine), I then spent the $100 learning Futures and played with the bots. I sold some ADA and the tiny bag of ETH I had (bought $100 spent $25 in fees to transfer so I’ll prob wait to buy that again), I’d say about $125 between those two. So all together I lost ~$425-500ish Whats funny is down to my last $10 I was doing SHIB futures, I had 16/20 of my trades be profits (1%-5% occasionally more). This was great, I felt confident, but my 4 losses tanked my $10 to $1.40 and I haven’t traded since lol Obviously I was doing something right towards the end, and something very, very wrong. So that means I should be able to minimize my losses and do it better the next time, maybe eliminate my “wrong” factor all together if I can even figure it out. I don’t do any research on my own trades but I should start. Money troubles are hitting me hard now though so I’ll have to wait though I’d like to add that I’ve only played with what I felt comfortable with. If you’re new, try it with $100, you’re going to lose it so learn with it. Do not ever EVER spend money you cannot afford to lose or your mental state with decline rapidly. You’ll question entry and exits, you’ll get nervous seeing red candles, beat yourself up over “well if I just held!” or “if I sold here it would’ve been better!” Just don’t even do that to yourself lol
I like the OPUL mention here. You should def stake your opul on kucoin. Just use 2fa. I'm assuming you don't hold millions in OPUL.

Seriously- Algorand. The DeFi ecosystem is exploding right now! Yieldly is only like 6 months old, tinyman DEX launched like 3 months ago, Algomint and Algofi just launched something like 2 weeks ago, and wagmi DEX launched a few days ago. The DeFi space is getting fleshed out and you're now able to actually do something with your Algo! There's LP token staking pools coming to Yieldly (Algofi already has STBL/USDC LP token pool up), many projects such as OPUL, ARCC, CHOICE, XET, and pretty soon AKITA have staking pools on Yieldly. This year was excellent for adoption of Algo and next year I can see it rocketing.
Think the YLDY- OPUL pool ends soon, perfect timing to move over to Akita

Yieldly is such a beautiful thing. I keep adding as much as I can. Whenever ALGO dips I buy more and convert to Yieldly. Stake that yieldy and accumulate more and more and more. The OPUL shuffle has been nice as well.

For earning ALGO, I get a better rate through governance. Governance is 16.4%, Yiedly isn't offering higher than that on ALGO itself, just on the other coins, like OPUL.
It's legit, but I'm not sure how useful it is. The YLDY coin itself is very thinly traded and not worth much, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with these stacks of them. I've staked some for OPUL. The website, though, is ultra cheezeball.

Did i mention we ahould never buy btc or eth because too many people talk about it? DEFinitely don't buy algo and actually try using it because, and this part is actually serious, you probably won't want to buy any of those other L1s anymore. In all seriousness, I used ETH's defi ecosystem like crazy when it first popped up and it was obvious it was going to explode and then become unusable one day. Been using Algorand's ecosystem since day 1 (first apps this summer) and, once again it is obvious this is going to explode but I don't see this becoming unusable one day. I truly think it is the actual future L1 that we'll all be using 2022+. If you're not accumulating ASA alt coins then you're prepare to relive the fomo of seeing ETH's defi ecosystem take off without you once again. I'd recommend YLDY, OPUL, SMILE, and soon AlgoFi, ZONE, FolksFinance, XGLI and lots more down the road lol. Just got a bridge for BTC and ETH (AlgoMint GoBTC and GoETH). Liquidity staking coming. Opulous $OPUL is interesting but current supply is on 1/23 of total supply which stops me buying any.

So not released nov. 1st but in September, opulous coin ($OPUL). Small market cap so dyor but with only 500 million coins in circulation and less than 200 million in MC, it could easily reach audious mc level of $1 billion MC and if that happens then ur looking at > $50 per coin
Tip, you can double dip the pools. OPUL and the other pools are on a different timer for some reason. So everyday I earn OPUL, when the rewards calculate 7:30am for me, I withdraw my YIELDLY and put it in the YIELDLY/ALGO pool. Which registers the rewards when I'm at work. When I get home, I swap back to OPUL pool. Going to suck when the OPUL pool ends.
I'm kind of neutral on OPUL tbh. Seems like a solid project and it's been getting some exposure recently but the founder rubs me the wrong way. But since you're staking in both, here's a tip. You can double-dip your rewards each day. Since the rewards update at different times, you can stake you're YLDLY in the OPUL pool, wait for the rewards and then withdraw your YLDLY and stake in the YLDLY/ALGO pool. Wait for the rewards again and then withdraw and go back to the OPUL pool. Rinse and repeat.
So I am mainly doing the yieldly to yieldly/algo staking… but have a small portion in yieldly to opulous.. Opinions on OPUL?
I cant speak for SMILE, but OPUL got killed due to some Twitter fallout with one of the people (I think an ex Sony Music head) leading the project.
Yieldly seems like a decent way to squeeze out some temporary high %. Seems to drop after a few months (e.g. SMILE, OPUL)

I never said it did - at least in the short term. I said a strong ecosystem is needed for value (which it is) and in the long-run that will dictate price. Right now, speculation dictates price. As for it's ecosystem, it's objectively barren in comparison to several other top projects, and I'm aware of OPUL. It has a long way to go before it's "world-changing".
this is a very uninformed comment. Market never makes sense, ecosystem is not needed to have a good price, even if it did, ALGO has a world changing ecosystem, check OPUL for example. I will not be expecting a 10x from algo but it will be the heritance I leave to my kids.

Bought OPUL at 0,5. At 10x I sold my investment. So now I have OPUL wich has cost me nada.

ALGO is where it's at. Yieldly has been holding steady above .017 and even pumped above .019 last night while everything else was dropping. All the while double dipping in YLDLY --> YLDLY and YLDLY --> OPUL staking pools at around 40%APY and 60%APY respectively. If I were to convert my initial ALGO investment into YLDLY back to ALGO right now, I'd be +25% ALGO.
Huh? You don't need to convert YLDY for another coin, you stake it for rewards for another coin, which is the main utility of YLDY. I'm generally staking for more YLDY and a little Algo but the first two weeks I staked for OPUL saw the price run up 5x which was definitely worth it.

I cbf reading all the replies so someone may have already given you what I'm about to say. If you want stable staking go for the usual 10% APY that will require $60k ish to start. If you want riskier and smaller initial investment, look into CAKE, YIELD, OPUL, insane APY however fluctuates and AFAIK yield and opul do not have auto compound meaning you will need to go and do it yourself. If you had $15k you could trade algo for approx 750k yieldly stake that for 40% ish or 70%ish opul, giving you approx 5769ish (noice) a week at $0.02 = $115. Remove transaction fees and taxes if you plan on withdrawing and living off of this you'll have a lot less. All calculations are approx I did it in my head. Also where I'm from zero chance I could live off $500 a month, that's my weekly rent. Good luck and stake everything you can
Yeah, it sounds pretty similar to OPUL, which has had pretty hearty gains over the last month or two. From looking at the OPUL roadmap though, it will be a while before you can actually do much with the platform though, so if this new project can move a bit faster and gain some actual traction, it could potentially beat them to it IMO.

I think OPUL is an interesting project and has gained a good amount since it was released. Unfortunately I don’t have enough YLDY staked to be seeing any return on the stake pool

Tons of room in the NFT space for music. Just look at demand for OPUL. Its an industry that is notoriously bad for artists financially, and you have a solution to that. I've been a dedicated music fanatic my whole life. IMO - they are dying for help disrupting record companies. ESPECIALLY - young, lesser known artists....imagine how much easier it would be for them to make it if they actually got to profit from their art? Most of the groups I like to see are small, prog-rock jam bands that fight tooth and nail for every gig because they want so badly to make it. If you open up an avenue for these people, possibilities are endless. Drive and dedication with these groups is unmatched. For almost every musical artist out there its music or bust. If you only marketed to artists, you would still be a success.
I saw kucoin charges 50 opul for withdrawal fee, when mexc charges 10 OPUL. Not saying mexc is good because ASA transfer on ALGO network only costs 0.001 ALGO. I just need more exchanges to support ASA TOKEN so i can avoid using Kucoin
