Better to be lucky than to be good. Looks like insiders have been selling prior to Friday. I just looked at their form 4's. I expect the AMGN price to be less than $300 by end of this week. I'm buying puts Monday.
Might be time to buy puts on AMGN. Lots of insider sells at $277 around 5/2, 5/3. Why would they do that instead of waiting a couple of days later. The market must have reacted incorrectly to what they knew they were going to communicate. I'm buying puts that expire this week. I suspect stock price to be less than $300 by end of this week.

That's what earnings plays look like unless you get lucky. I tend to buy a call expiring a month out, about 2 weeks out from earnings. Then I'll sell the position at peak volatility before earnings. If I am green enough I'll gamble some of my winnings on a earning rip. Just this week I had 6 AMGN calls for earnings bought, I think, two weeks ago. Sold 4 the day before and doubled my investment. Then kept 2 and it absolutely fucking rocketed. Better if I'd held all 6? Sure. But my risk was managed and those 2 calls went from $140 to $2200 overnight. Just one way to consider approaching things. What I would say is not to ever buy a call expiring in the same week they expire. If you can't afford to play, don't. Don't try to sneak in with a cheaper position because theta will devour 95% of your money.
Core PCE (the measure the fed cares about) has a two handle on it now. So as far as the fed is concerned, inflation is below 3%. And, yes, some people were calling for a potential hike, which had spooked the market, which is why it had room to rally today on the back of AAPL/AMGN earnings, Powell, and employment data. Things are always fluid.
Pleeaase tell me one of you insiders hit on a 315 AMGN call. Cause I wanna see some big numbers.
u/modsaregayasfukkk I’m still holding tons of ABBV. Another healthcare average down play; NVO pull back is beyond stupid… Amgn’s pre market drug is not a threat to Wegovy and ozempic. First - even in the best case scenario AMGN is not coming to market anytime soon. Second - even when it does come to market, NVO is having trouble producing enough drug to match demand. So amgn will pull from market share that NVO can’t meet. Hence, NVO sales and profits will not suffer. Bought some more 🪑s of NVO. Will continue to DCA when dips occur.

I booked a Caribbean all inclusive 5 star (same one we went to this year) off of a move in February and today - I'm just waiting for open to hopefully see the same with my AMGN position assuming it holds.

LLY and NVO are reacting very negatively to the AMGN announcement. I think it’s an overreaction and the story hasn’t changed for NVO. They will come back sooner than later.

I watch for momentum by applying the three-day rule within that limited channel, ideally the candles are getting shorter each day to show dying sell momentum. Based on your list, here are some notes for the ones that are also on mine: - APPL: 164 to168. - ADBE: 413 to 480 - LVMUY: 145 to 164 - UNH: 445 to 454 Others on my list that are getting there, some outside of their 250 day supports because I missed a run-up. - AMGN: 260 to 269 - HON: 185 to 198 - JNJ: 148 to 152 - TGT: 152 to 163 - SBUX: 83 to 86

I’m not going to hit my numbers here.
