As an example of Shari Redstone's monumental stupidity, GME currently has a market cap *double* that of PARA. And PARA still has almost 80M shares short, and months of buyout speculation. Not since Jerry Yang and YHOO has there been a company like PARA so intent on destroying itself and the company's shareholders.
Not since Jerry Yang (and Yahoo declining MSFT's $46B buyout offer) has there been a moron as delusional as Shari Redstone. Yang said "No!" to MSFT, and over ten years later YHOO was sold for a TENTH of MSFT's prior offer. And just like Yang, Redstone seems intent on destroying the company's shareholders. Very good chance Apollo has buyers lined up for some businesses. The Hollywood insiders and Ellison want to screw over everyone. It's unlikely to stand. I bought PARA at 12 a week or so ago. M&A mayhem play. It went down to 11 but I was laughing and hodling. Then it went up to 12.50. I fell asleep eating a bag of cookies. And I had a dream I was looking at the ticker on my favorite stock info site and it said PARA 9.72. I woke up and sold out. Took a 5% gain right before the earnings report. Today it's at 13.90 kind of where I expected it to be when I first bought in. All my plotting and calculations << a scary dream. And I don't even feel any regret. Which I think is the scariest part. So when to sell? Blessed are the value investors. They buy great companies then say "never".
PARA to the moon tomorrow. If not, I'm hedged with $13 puts. Or, WBD riding it's coattails past $9 would be highly profitable.

This will obv not happen for a variety of reasons but fun idea: what if they bought out PARA and WBD and just utterly dominated trad media. Clearly it’s a declining industry but they’re both on sale, and they could unlock synergies with Apple’s media business. Get ahead of the AI content creation race and control the future of streaming. They could have done that and still bought back half of their play here lol. I suppose they’re such small fish now that it’s not even worth Apple’s time.
